JANUARY 22, 2018 [CORPUS CHRISTI, TX] — KCS Public Relations (KCS|PR) is proud to announce a $2,500 in-kind contribution through its Community Connections program to the Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group (CBDRG).

The Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group is a collaborative network comprised of non-profit, faith based and government organizations working as long-term recovery partners to strengthen communities with recovery efforts following a federally declared disaster in the Coastal Bend. CBDRG assists communities to bridge the gap of unmet, disaster-related needs after all available financial resources have been exhausted, specifically helping with long-term case management services and home repair assistance. Since Hurricane Harvey made its landfall late August 2017, CBDRG has been focused on the recovery efforts in the six affected counties in the Coastal Bend.

“The contribution provided by KCS Public Relations is going to help the Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group build our organizational brand, enhance our presence in the community, communicate with greater effectiveness and leverage additional fundraising opportunities,” said Rev. Beth Tatum, President of the 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation.

As the newest addition to the company’s I-value system, “Investment” in the community is a priority for KCS|PR’s president and owner, Doreen Harrell. “Investing in our community to assist with unmet needs signifies our commitment to the Coastal Bend as a small business and the importance of our relationship with the community as a whole.”

KCS Community Connections was established when Harrell took ownership of the company in November of 2016. Her vision was to not only provide clients with the highest quality public relations services, but to establish a program that could go further, do more, and make an impact in the community by giving a percentage of the company’s annual revenue to a local non-profit organization through a direct monetary contribution, in-kind donation of services and/or service volunteerism.

“Community Connections is a way to extend our business relationship beyond just servicing our clients, allowing us to help others through giving back to the Corpus Christi community that has supported KCS|PR for over 15 years in business,” added Harrell. “And being able to provide assistance to an organization helping to rebuild the Coastal Bend region after a devastating storm is directly aligned with that vision.”
